Seven Segment Display
  • Her's what I hope will be a handy (and retro) seven-segment LED display. I left it as individual digits and included a three digit driver which could easily be modified for more or less digits. There is an invisible black SVG mask in the module. I put a text note to the left of the mask if you need to grab it.

  • THIS IS BRILLIUANT! Masking it with the SVG is amazing. @jdraoul check this out if you're still around.
  • Just the idea of masking the lights like that could spawn a whole new genre of SVG+lights mind is spinning already.
  • All done (for the moment)
  • That's great! Love that it wraps around to 000 just like a regular odometer would.
  • Here's a three digit model. Masks are just below the notes (look for the broken wires)

  • Actually it doesn't wrap at the moment. The driver clamps it at 999. It would be an easy change, replace the clamp(n,0,999) with a mod(n,1000)
  • This is so close to the braids display. Truly this is a good day for the visual patch category!
  • I thought the first set was a bit big for some applications so I made a smaller set. I think this is about as small as I can get with the size of the lights.

  • I wouldn't mind larger if it has more segments, like the mutable instrument displays. Although we currently have no way of outputting text, so that might be a fruitless pursuit.

  • Nice! I like these small ones. Here's a simple BPM clock that goers from 60-250.

  • I like the BPM display! It looks like the mask on the smaller ones could still use some work. I noticed some leakage around the edges.
  • @RobertSyrett, I’m thinking about text, stay tuned.
  • For some reason, this patch is not working on iOS 11 or version 3.4.6. I am new here. Is there any way to fix this?
EDIT: Nevermind. It seems that the browser is causing problems for me. Browser: Google Chrome.

  • @trienas nice to meet you!
  • Welcome aboard! Glad you figured it out.
  • I used this to create a clock with a percentage of a day and with a ability to set time. I hope you liked this. I’m sorry for being messy.

  • @trienas - very cool! Did you upload the patch though? I don't see anything here.
  • It is a work in progress.
I need a pc to upload it and my pc is not working at the moment.
  • @biminiroad
Sorry for being very late. I am a very lazy person that doesn’t name my projects.
I removed some of the modules due to the cpu on my iPad Pro 9.7.
I edited and created this to represent time. Excuse me for not being formal.

  • I added the dozenal clock based on this:
    2048 x 1536 - 640K
    2048 x 1536 - 636K
    New Patch 25.audulus
  • @Trienas - this is awesome! Especially love that little dec to binary converter display - very cool! Dozenal is an interesting method for telling time.
